Peugeot 607 Overheating Communication Fault

I have a 2001 Peugeot 607 diesel with 261489 km. Engine overheats, check engine light is on, and coolant is leaking. I suspect a control unit communication error and have checked for obvious wiring faults, but no luck so far. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

Despite checking for wiring faults, the issue persists. A similar case was resolved by addressing a defective cable or plug connection, suggesting professional diagnosis and repair might be necessary.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue on my 607 with overheating and coolant loss. Was it throwing any diagnostic trouble codes related to the CAN bus or any other communication faults?

Yes, it's throwing a communication fault code. Where was the fault located on your car?

Turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection of the component. I spent ages trying to trace it myself and gave up. I ended up taking it to a workshop, they diagnosed it quickly and sorted it for 95€. Probably best to get it checked out properly.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop to get it checked out.
