Peugeot 607 Transmission Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Peugeot 607 diesel is experiencing transmission issues, including non-functional paddle shifters, slipping gearbox, unclean shifts, grinding noises, and emergency mode activation. The error memory indicates a defective transmission control unit, which is suspected to be the cause. A similar case confirmed that replacing the transmission control unit resolved the issue, suggesting that inspection and potential replacement of the unit at a workshop might be necessary.

Thanks, I appreciate the analogy. Fuses are all good. Could you share more about your experience? Was the control unit the problem for you?

Yes, the transmission control unit was the problem. Given your symptoms and checks, I'd see a workshop that can diagnose and maybe replace the unit. It's like solving a Rubik's Cube.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I'll get it inspected at a trusted workshop and expect the control unit is the problem. I'll prepare for the 1000€ repair.

I had similar issues with my 607. Sounds like the electronic problems these cars get. Have you checked the transmission fuses? Sometimes it's that simple. Could be more complex, like the car's computer misfiring.
