Peugeot 607 Ventilation Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Peugeot 607 is experiencing ventilation issues, specifically with the defrost air distribution flap, leading to low heating output and windshield fogging. The problem might be due to a faulty cable or plug connection to the flap motor. Another potential cause could be a blockage in the heater core, restricting hot coolant flow. It is suggested to have the vehicle checked by a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'heater core', do you mean physically checking it for blockages, or is there a way to test it electronically? I'm not the most mechanically gifted, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I meant physically checking it. The low heat output and the error code about the flap suggest a potential issue with airflow or temperature regulation. A blocked heater core could restrict hot coolant flow, leading to both problems. However, considering the stored error code, going to a workshop is a good idea, especially if you are not experienced. They have the tools and knowledge to properly diagnose the problem. I had to pay 95€ for the repair, but at least now the windshield is not fogging anymore.

Okay, that's really helpful, thank you! I think I'll bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. It's probably beyond my capabilities, and I don't want to make things worse. Hopefully, it is just a simple cable or plug connection. Thanks again for your help!

I had a similar issue on my 607. Have you checked the heater core? Sometimes a blockage there can cause similar symptoms. It might be worth investigating before you start tearing apart the air distribution system.
