Peugeot 806 Brake Booster Sensor

I'm having trouble with my 2002 Peugeot 806 diesel. I'm getting a brake booster pressure sensor failure. The speedometer shows an error, the braking is weak, and the error is stored in the memory. I think the brake system might have been bled wrong. Has anyone had this on their 806?

Hi, I have a similar Peugeot 806, and I had some braking issues a while back. Your symptoms sound familiar. Did the poor braking start after recent brake work? Was it bled recently? What diagnostic tools did you use to check the error memory?

Yes, the braking got worse after a brake fluid change. I used a professional OBD-II scanner for Peugeot codes, and it pointed to the brake booster pressure sensor. What was similar about your experience, and how did you fix it?

Yes, the brake fluid change is key. My issue was almost identical. The system wasn't bled right, causing air in the lines and triggering the sensor. I'd suggest a workshop with Peugeot experience. They can bleed the system and check the sensor.

Thanks for the advice. I took my 806 to a Peugeot mechanic. You were right, the braking hadn't been bled correctly after the fluid change. After bleeding, the error went away, and the braking was normal again. The pressure sensor was faulty and needed replacement. The total cost was 90€. Thanks; your insights helped a lot.
