Peugeot 806 engine mount defective

I'm having trouble with my 2002 Peugeot 806 gasoline engine. The engine mount seems defective. I'm noticing uneven idling, and there's an error stored. I suspect a bad cable or plug. Anyone else seen this?

Hey! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Engine mount failure can cause weird vibrations and idling issues. Did you check the mounting bracket for cracks or wear? Sometimes it's not just the electrical connection, but the rubber degrades. Is the error code specific to the engine mount?

Thanks! I visually inspected the engine mount, but it’s hard to see the rubber's condition without removing it. The error code does point to the engine mount. On your Astra, was the error intermittent, and did it affect performance much?

Yeah, on my Astra the error was intermittent at first, then more frequent. The vibrations got bad, especially at lower RPMs. I could feel it through the steering wheel. Since the error code mentions the engine mount, and you're experiencing rough idling, get it checked by a workshop. They can properly diagnose the electrical connection and the mount itself. Might save you a headache.

Understood. I appreciate hearing about your Astra. I'll schedule a workshop appointment to have the engine mount inspected. The estimated repair cost is around 95€, which seems reasonable. Thanks again!
