Peugeot 807 Brake Fluid Loss

I've noticed the brake fluid level dropping in my 2004 Peugeot 807 gasoline, and the brake pedal feels strange. Could this be worn brakes or something in the hydraulic system?

Summary of the thread

The initial concern was a dropping brake fluid level and an unusual brake pedal feel in a 2004 Peugeot 807. Possible causes considered included worn brakes or issues within the hydraulic system, such as leaks in the brake lines or problems with the master cylinder. After inspection, the issue was identified as worn brakes, which were subsequently repaired.

I had a similar experience with my 807. Have you checked the brake lines for leaks? Inspect the master cylinder too.

I've considered the brake lines and master cylinder. Was the brake pedal sensation similar for you, and was the fluid loss gradual or sudden?

Yes, the pedal feel was definitely 'off,' and the fluid loss was slow but steady. You probably know all the basics, but I'd still recommend a workshop check to be safe.

I had it inspected. Worn brakes were the problem. Repair cost 480€.
