Peugeot 807 Stalling Camshaft Sensor Suspected

Hey, my 2006 Peugeot 807 (gasoline engine) with 151040 km is giving me headaches. It starts poorly, sometimes stalls at idle, and the check engine light is on. I suspect it's the camshaft sensor. Anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking the encoder wheel on the camshaft might be defective. I've tested the sensor itself, and it seems okay. Could it be the crankshaft sensor messing with ignition timing, even though the camshaft position seems off?

I had similar issues with my Peugeot 807. Is the car stalling only when cold or also when the engine is warm?

Good point! It's more frequent when cold, but it happens sometimes when warm too. Did you end up replacing the camshaft sensor, or was it something else?

I ended up going to the workshop, as it was too complicated to diagnose myself. They told me it was the camshaft sensor and the encoder wheel as you suspected.

Thanks for confirming! I suspected as much. Just got a quote for 695€. Ouch! But at least I know what it is. Will post results when it's fixed.
