Peugeot Boxer engine stalls after fuel filter change
Summary of the thread
After changing the fuel filter on a 2004 Peugeot Boxer, the engine began stalling at idle, and the check engine light turned on. This issue was suspected to be related to the fuel system, possibly involving the fuel pressure regulator or a loose connection. Upon professional inspection, it was confirmed that the fuel pressure regulator was the cause, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Fuel pressure regulator, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where is that located, and how would I test it? Could it be something as simple as a loose connection after changing the filter? I also thought about the fuel pump.

Well, on my Astra, the fuel pressure regulator was near the fuel rail. Honestly, testing it was a pain, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly. It could be a loose connection, sure, but those symptoms sound like a regulator issue to me. Save yourself the headache and get it checked out by a pro. It's the most effective way, trust me. Better than chasing ghosts in the fuel system.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the fuel pressure regulator! They replaced it, and the engine runs fine now. The error entry was likely triggered after I changed the fuel filter. The repair cost me 45€.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after messing with the fuel system. The check engine light was on, rough idling, and all that jazz. Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump? Maybe a faulty pressure sensor is messing things up. Did you ensure proper installation of the fuel filter?
