Cheers for the insight! Where exactly was the corroded connection in the fuse box? Was it visibly obvious or did you have to dig around with a multimeter to find it? I’ve given it a once-over, but nothing jumps out. Any specific fuses or relays I should be focusing on?

Yeah, I had to get right in there with the multimeter, unfortunately. If I recall correctly, it was main power supply to the starter motor feed. Honestly, after messing with it for an age, I just bit the bullet, dragged it down to the workshop and let them sort it. Best bet probably is to get it on their diagnostics...

Appreciate the advice! Ended up doing the same. Battery was shot, like you said. New one fitted, cost me 290€ and it's running perfectly now. Thanks again for the heads up!

Ugh, electrical gremlins... hate 'em. I had a similar issue with my Boxer, although a bit older than yours. Same symptoms – felt like a dead battery on startup. Did you check the main fuse box? That was my headache. Turned out to be a corroded connection causing voltage drop. Drove me crazy!
