Peugeot Expert Engine Temperature Issues

Alright, Peugeot Expert owners, gather 'round. My 2007 gasoline van, with just 43322 km on the clock, is throwing some weird error codes. I think the cooling grille is restricted or something. The temperature display seems off, engine light's on, and it takes ages to warm up. I've checked the fuses related to cooling, but they all look fine. Anyone else run into this?

Huh, that's odd. I've got an Expert too. I had similar symptoms a while back engine light and slow warm-up. Did you actually check the grille itself for blockages? Leaves, debris, that sort of thing? Could be a super simple fix, but I can't be sure. What exactly did you check on the fuses? Sometimes a visual inspection isn't enough. And by the way, what do you mean by 'restricted cooling grille'?

Yeah, I visually inspected the grille. Seemed clear, but I didn't take it apart or anything. As for the fuses, I just looked to see if any were blown. I didn't test them with a multimeter. As for 'restricted cooling grille', I saw something about that in the car's manual. Seems there are shutters that open and close based on engine temp to regulate cooling. Is that even possible? Did you experience the exact same symptoms like display errors in the instrument cluster?

Okay, gotcha. A visual inspection might not catch everything. And yeah, those active grille shutters can be problematic, although I'm not totally sure if my Expert has them. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty temperature sensor. Although, a malfunctioning grille could definitely cause similar issues. To be honest, at this point, given the engine light and weird temps, I'd probably just take it to a workshop. They can hook it up to a diagnostic tool and pinpoint the problem far quicker than we can guess here.

Right, fair enough. Workshop it is. I was hoping for a quick fix, but I suspect something more complex may be occurring. I appreciate the input, really. It was the coolant temperature sensor (CTS) at the end. Had it replaced at the workshop cost me 52€. Now everything is back to normal.
