Peugeot iOn Temperature Sensor Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Peugeot iOn is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, affecting the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The problem is suspected to be related to a cable or plug connection issue with the sensor. A similar case involved a corroded connector near the front bumper, which required professional repair. It is suggested to have a workshop inspect and potentially replace the connector to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Wiring harness near the front bumper, you say? Any specific area I should be looking at? And what exactly was the fix for you? Was it just a loose connection, or did you have to replace the sensor?

Yeah, it's a bit exposed down there. I didn't actually fix it myself, to be honest. I poked around a bit, but in the end, I took it to a workshop. They said it was a corroded connector and replaced the plug. Cost was similar to what you've been quoted. Given your symptoms, it does sound like the same thing. I'd get it checked by a professional, especially if you're not comfortable messing with the wiring.

Appreciate the confirmation. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. I'll let them know to focus on the connector and wiring harness. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have an iOn too, and I had almost the exact same cluster of symptoms a while back: AC dead, weird temp readings, and the heated mirrors were acting up too. I didn't get the frozen nozzles, but I suspect it's the same root cause. Did you check the wiring harness near the front bumper? That's where the outside temp sensor usually lives.
