Peugeot iOn transmission control unit defective

Hi, I'm having issues with my 2011 Peugeot iOn (electric engine) at 259139 km. The transmission control unit seems defective. Shifting isn't possible with the paddle shifters, the gearbox slips, and makes grinding noises. Paddle shifters respond slowly, and the gearbox is in emergency mode. Error codes are stored. Any ideas?

I had similar transmission problems with my iOn. Does it feel like the car is stuck in a single gear sometimes, or like it's struggling to decide which gear to be in? The symptoms you describe—slipping, grinding, and emergency mode—sound very familiar. I would run a diagnostic and then focus on control unit.

Yes, it feels exactly like it's stuck in one gear occasionally. The diagnostic points towards the control module. Did you have to replace yours, and was that the solution in your case?

That's exactly how it was for me too. It does sound like a faulty control module. I strongly recommend having the dealer or a specialized workshop confirm the diagnosis. I went through the same thing, and replacing the control unit fixed it. It might be an expensive repair but it’s the right way to fix the error.

Thanks for confirming. I feared it was the control module. The workshop quoted around 1000€ for the repair. I'll proceed with the replacement.
