Peugeot Traveller boost pressure sensor issue

I'm experiencing issues with my 2018 Peugeot Traveller diesel. The check engine light is on, accompanied by jerking during acceleration, a whistling noise, and a distinct loud hissing when accelerating. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption seems higher and engine power is noticeably reduced. I suspect it might be a bad boost pressure sensor, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. The car has 138447 km on the clock. Anyone experienced something similar?

That sounds rough! I had similar symptoms with my old Renault Megane, though it was a petrol engine. Check engine light, power loss, the works. Did you check the air intake system for leaks? Maybe the pressure sensor is just a symptom, not the cause.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the air intake for any obvious cracks or loose connections, but didn't find anything definitive. Was the problem on your Megane eventually the pressure sensor itself, or something else entirely?

Turns out, it wasn't the sensor itself, but a corroded connector. Caused all sorts of weird readings. I'd say get it checked at a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

Appreciate the insight! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – corroded connector on the boost pressure sensor. They cleaned it up and replaced the faulty wiring. Total cost was 95€. Runs like a dream now!
