Platina Auxiliary Heater Problem

Hey, I'm having a weird problem with my 2003 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine. The auxiliary heater isn't working. I can't activate the parking heater function at all. I hooked it up to a diagnostic tool, and it's throwing an error that's stored in the error memory. I'm thinking it could be a temperature sensor issue, or maybe something with the blower motor or climate control system? I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses. Any ideas?

Sounds like a defective glow plug. Have you checked the heating system relay?

Glow plug, huh? I hadn't considered that. Where exactly is the heating system relay located? Is it difficult to access and test?

Yeah, glow plug failure is common with those. The relay location varies, check your manual. Given the error code and the symptom, I'd advise a workshop visit. They can pinpoint it faster.

Thanks. Appreciate the input. I took it to a local workshop and it turns out it was a defective glow plug, just like you said. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Now the auxiliary heater works perfectly again.
