Platina ECU Fault Memory Lock Active

I've got a 2002 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine that's throwing me for a loop. The car runs fine, but the ECU is showing 'Fault memory lock active'. The only symptom I can see is that an error is stored in the error memory. Has anyone seen this before? Is it something I can tackle myself, or am I looking at a trip to the mechanic?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 307. The error kept popping up, but the car seemed okay. Could it be related to undervoltage? Have you checked your battery recently?

Undervoltage, huh? That's interesting. I haven't checked the battery specifically, but the car starts fine every time. Would undervoltage really cause a 'memory lock' error like this? How did you resolve it on your Peugeot?

Yeah, on the Peugeot, it turned out to be a flaky battery causing voltage dips. The ECU went nuts and locked some settings. I'd say get your battery and charging system checked. If it is undervoltage, the error won't clear properly until you sort that out. I had to go to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and reset. Cost around 240€.

Okay, thanks for the tip! I'll get the battery and charging system checked out. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. Appreciate the help!
