Platina Electronic Parking Brake Fault

My 2009 Nissan Platina with a gasoline engine has an electronic parking brake malfunction. There's an error code and the warning light is on. I suspect the electric motor in the brake caliper. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms: electronic handbrake dead, error code, the whole shebang. I'm no expert, but it could be the motor like you're thinking.

Interesting. Was it a straightforward fix, or did you run into any unexpected snags? Did you have to replace the entire caliper, or were you able to just swap out the motor itself?

I didn't mess with it myself. I took it straight to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quick and replaced the whole caliper unit. Cost me a pretty penny, but at least it fixed the problem.

Thanks for the insight! Looks like I'll be taking it to a trusted mechanic. I was hoping to avoid a full caliper replacement, but it seems like that's the likely path. I was quoted 505€ for the repair, including parts and labor. Hopefully, that'll put an end to this electronic brake nightmare.
