Porsche Cayman's Multiple Warning Lights Mystery

Thanks for sharing that insight about your Boxster! My issues started about a week ago, mainly during longer drives when the engine's fully warmed up. I'm currently at 107003 KM and just had my regular service done last month. The weird part is that all these warning lights came on at once, which made me think about those communication errors you mentioned. The temperature gauge started acting up particularly during highway driving. I'll definitely have my mechanic check that water pump connection you mentioned, sounds like it could be a similar issue. Thanks for the tip!

Hey again! Just wanted to follow up since your description sounds even more similar to my situation now that you've provided those details. Yeah, my Boxster also showed those symptoms mostly during longer drives, and I had about 98000 KM when it happened. What's really interesting is that my warning lights also came on all at once during highway driving, it's like déjà vu hearing your story! Since you mentioned you just had regular service done, you might want to have them check if anything got disturbed during that service. In my case, we eventually found out that some work done during a previous service had actually caused that connector to become loose over time. Quick tip from my experience, before taking it to the shop, try to document exactly when these warnings appear (like speed, engine temp, time driven). I used my phone to record a video of the dashboard when it happened, and that really helped the mechanics diagnose it faster. Keep us posted on what your mechanic finds. I'm really curious if it turns out to be the same issue as mine!

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! You've been super helpful. I'll definitely take your advice about documenting everything, that's such a smart idea about recording the dashboard! I've already started keeping notes about when it happens, and you're right, having this info will probably save some diagnostic time. I just booked an appointment with my Porsche specialist for next Tuesday, and I'll make sure to have them check that connector issue, especially since you mentioned it could be related to recent service work. It's actually really reassuring to hear someone else went through almost the exact same thing, makes me feel better that it might not be something super major. I'll update this thread once I get it sorted out. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, this is exactly why I love our Porsche community!

Hey there! I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2016 Porsche Boxster (I have some experience working on cars, but I'm no expert). When I saw your post, it immediately reminded me of what I went through last year. I also had overheating issues and warning lights popping up. Turned out the cable connection to the water pump was faulty and causing communication errors. Took it to my trusted Porsche workshop, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. The repair, including labor, cost me around 155€ to fix, they basically had to replace the connector and check the entire cooling system. Could you share more details about when these issues started and if you notice any patterns (like does it happen more when the engine is hot or cold)? Also, what's the mileage on your Cayman? This info would help me tell if you're dealing with the same problem I had.
