Porter diesel stalling rough idle

Hey, my 2003 Hyundai Porter diesel is acting up. The check engine light is on, and it sometimes stalls when idling. It also feels like I've lost some power. I've got 82695 km on the clock. Could a faulty rail pressure sensor cause this?

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Hyundai Porter diesel was experiencing stalling and rough idling, with the check engine light on and a loss of power. The issue was suspected to be a faulty rail pressure sensor. After checking the wiring and connections, the sensor was replaced, resolving the problem and restoring the vehicle's performance.

Sounds like it could be the pressure sensor. Have you checked the sensor's wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion? That's a common issue and worth a look before replacing it.

Thanks! I'll check the wiring. Where exactly is the rail pressure sensor located? I'm not too familiar with the fuel injection system on this engine.

It's usually on the fuel rail itself. But if you're not comfortable working on the fuel system, it might be best to get it checked by a workshop. Fuel systems can be tricky, and you don't want to cause any further damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right it was the rail pressure sensor. They replaced it for 240€ and now it runs great!
