Yep, totally unresponsive, whether I use the release button or the key fob. Did yours do the same?

Yep, sounds like exactly what happened to mine. I tried fiddling with it myself, but ended up just taking it to the shop. Turned out to be a defective linkage, which cost around 210€ to fix. Best to get it checked out.

Thanks for the info! I suspected an electrical fault, but a defective linkage seems plausible. I'll take it to a workshop ASAP. The mechanic confirmed the linkage was defective and replaced it. The repair cost was indeed 210€. Thanks again!
