Presage ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Fault

My 2009 Nissan Presage with a gasoline engine has 152689 km. The ABS lamp is on, and the system is failing. A scan shows an error with the lateral acceleration sensor. I think it's a bad control unit. Has anyone seen this before?

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. The ABS and traction control lights were on, and it turned out to be a faulty yaw rate sensor, which is related to lateral acceleration. Have you checked the steering angle sensor? Sometimes, those two are linked.

Thanks! I hadn't considered the steering angle sensor. Could a faulty steering angle sensor cause the lateral acceleration sensor to trigger an error?

It definitely can. In my case, the steering angle sensor was sending incorrect data, which messed with the yaw rate readings. The car thought it was sliding when it wasn't, triggering the ABS and traction control. You'll probably need a workshop to diagnose it. The repair cost me around 1000€ because the module had to be replaced.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds very similar to what I'm experiencing. I'll book it in with a workshop for a proper diagnostic check. I'll let you know what happens!
