Presage sun blind malfunction
Summary of the thread
The sun blind on a 2000 Nissan Presage has stopped functioning, neither retracting nor extending. The issue may be due to a defective motor, as indicated by a recurring error code despite checking the fuses and clearing the error memory. It is suggested to have the motor professionally repaired or replaced, as special tools are required to avoid damaging the car's interior.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, and they seem fine. I also cleared the error memory, but it came back as soon as I tried to operate the sun blind again. Any thoughts on whether it's worth trying to repair the motor myself, or am I better off just replacing the whole unit?

Okay, that sounds like the motor is indeed defective. When I had that problem on my BMW it was the same. I would advise you to take it to the workshop, because you need special tools to disassemble the sunblind without damaging the car interior.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I suspected it was the motor, but I wasn't sure if it was a DIY job. I'll take it to a workshop to get it sorted. They quoted me around 330€ for the repair, which seems reasonable. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with the rear sunshade in my old BMW 5 series. The symptoms sound almost identical. Did you check the fuse box, or tried to reset the error memory?
