BUS system? Cable connections? Could you explain that a bit more? I'm not super familiar with car electronics, so any details would be a huge help. Which cable connections are you talking about specifically? Where are they located?

Certainly. By BUS system, I am referring to the communication network within your vehicle that allows various electronic components to interact. The cable connections I mentioned are those that link the control unit to this BUS system. It would be best to take your car to a trusted professional for an inspection. In my case, the issue was indeed a defective cable connection to the control unit, which was causing intermittent disruptions. I advise seeking a mechanic with experience in Toyota vehicles.

Thanks so much for the advice! It's good to know I'm not alone. I took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was a loose connection in the BUS system, just like you said. They fixed it for 155€ and everything seems to be working perfectly again. Your tip saved me a lot of stress!

That sounds eerily familiar. I had similar issues with system failures, especially with the audio and navigation, coupled with random error lamps illuminating. It can be incredibly frustrating when your control units are temporarily shutting down, leaving you with an unresponsive system. Have you checked the cable connections to your control unit or to the BUS system?
