Previa increased fuel consumption hard start

I'm having trouble with my 2003 Toyota Previa with a gasoline engine. It has 196735 km. I've noticed the fuel consumption has increased, and it's been difficult to start. Could this be a defective throttle valve? I suspect it might be the accelerator pedal module. Any thoughts on the control valve, engine idle, car throttle, throttle position, or air intake?

Sounds like a headache. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Astra: higher fuel consumption and rough starts. Could be the throttle position sensor. Did you check it?

Thanks. Are you suggesting the throttle position sensor could be sending incorrect signals, affecting the air-fuel mixture? Is there an easy way to test it?

Exactly! The signal could be off. After fiddling, I took it to a workshop. They hooked it up to a diagnostic tool and fixed it fast. Might save you time?

I took it to a workshop based on your advice. The diagnostic assessment confirmed a defective accelerator pedal module, and it needed replacing. The total repair cost was 205€. Thanks for your help; it prompted me to seek professional assistance.
