Previa preheating lamp stays on

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2002 Toyota Previa diesel. It's done 138693 km. The preheating lamp refuses to extinguish, and there's an error in the error memory. I think it's a defective glow plug, but I'm open to suggestions before I start replacing things. Has anyone encountered similar symptoms?

Hey, I had something similar with my Previa. Does the engine light come on too? When the glow plugs went on mine, the fuel efficiency took a nosedive. Check for any black smoke from the exhaust when starting; that's another sign.

Thanks. No engine light, just the preheating lamp issue. I haven't seen any black smoke during start-up, and the fuel consumption seems stable. Was your issue resolved by just replacing the glow plugs, or was more diesel engine work needed?

Yeah, eventually it was the glow plugs. I tried to DIY, but one was seized solid, so I just took it to the workshop. They extracted the broken plug and replaced all four. Cleared the error memory, and she's been fine since. If you're not confident, just go to the mechanic; it will save you time and effort.

Understood. I appreciate the confirmation. I'll replace the glow plugs, but given your experience, I'll probably get a workshop to do it to avoid problems. Repair cost is about 440€.
