Previa starting and stalling issues

That sounds rough! I had a similar thing happen with my Previa, though mine was the ignition switch. Did you check the ignition coil too? I guess this might be related to car electronics... maybe your starting issue originates here.

Ignition coil? I haven't checked that. Where is it located, and is it easy to test myself? I'm not super mechanically inclined, so can I do it with basic tools?

Mine did the same thing... it was the ignition switch itself. I'm thinking it might be the same for you. Rather than messing with the ignition coil and further damaging the car, I’d take it to a good workshop. They'll diagnose it properly. This kind of thing can get expensive if you just start replacing parts randomly!
