Primastar check engine light air valve hose
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a 2014 Nissan Primastar with a check engine light issue, suspected to be caused by a faulty air valve hose. The problem was confirmed by another individual who experienced similar symptoms, such as erratic idle and manifold pressure issues, suggesting a cracked hose might be the cause. The recommended solution was to inspect the hoses connected to the air supply, which led to the discovery of a defective hose connection that was subsequently repaired by a workshop, resolving the issue.

Thanks! Yeah, the idle speed is a little weird sometimes. Which hoses did you check, and did you use any special tools?

Yeah, the idle thing confirms it sounds like the same problem. Honestly, I'm no mechanic, but I poked around the air intake area, near where the air valve sits. Eventually, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They found a split in one of the hoses, replaced it, and the light went off. Saved me a headache!

Thanks, I took it to a shop and they found the defective hose connection from the pump to the valve, like I thought. Cost 175€, but it's fixed now. Thanks again!

Hey, I had something similar with my Primastar. Check engine light driving me nuts! Is it affecting your idle at all? Mine was all over the place, and the manifold pressure seemed off. I'd definitely start by checking all the hoses connected to the air supply – could be a simple fix like a cracked hose causing a leak.
