Primastar Engine Misfire Jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Nissan Primastar with a gasoline engine is experiencing severe misfiring, rough running, a constantly illuminated check engine light, jerking during acceleration, and reduced engine power. The initial suspicion is a problem with the fuel injectors. Another suggestion is to check the spark plugs, as faulty plugs can cause similar symptoms. Ultimately, the issue is confirmed to be a defective fuel injector, which is resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the spark plugs yet, I'll definitely add that to the list. Were your symptoms exactly the same? Like, the jerking and reduced power? What was the eventual cause for you?

Yes, the jerking and power loss were identical. Given the mileage, it's likely a fuel injector issue if the spark plugs check out. I would advise bringing it to a workshop for diagnosis. Defective injection valves are difficult to diagnose without the proper equipment.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right - it was a defective fuel injector causing all the problems. Repair cost me 515€. Hopefully, this fixes it for good!

I also have a Primastar, and those symptoms sound very familiar. Combustion misfires can be a pain. Have you checked the spark plugs? Sometimes a faulty plug can cause similar issues before you start suspecting the fuel injectors.
