Primera Cruise Control Faulty Connector

Cruise control on my 2006 Nissan Primera diesel is dead at 224300 km. It just refuses to engage. I've got an error code and suspect a dodgy connection. Fuses are fine. Any ideas where to poke around next? Maybe throttle position or brake light switch?

Had a similar gremlin with my old Peugeot. Cruise control packed it in, and it turned out to be a faulty connection in the clock spring. Have you checked the cables and plugs under the steering wheel? It is not exactly the same car, but maybe it helps

Clock spring, eh? Interesting. I hadn't thought of that. Was the error code similar? And did it throw any other weird symptoms besides the cruise control failing?

The error code was related to the cruise control system and the only symptom was the cruise control not working. Honestly, I'd say it's probably best to get it checked out at a workshop. They'll have the right tools to diagnose it properly, and it's likely a defective cable or plug connection.

Cheers for the tip! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – a corroded connector at the cruise control unit. 95€ later and it's working like new again.
