Primera emergency call malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Primera diesel is experiencing a malfunction with its emergency call system, indicated by an error message and warning light. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. Diagnostic codes suggest a general communication error with the emergency call module, supporting the initial suspicion. The problem was resolved by replacing a defective plug connection at a workshop.

Yes, I did check the diagnostic codes. They seem to indicate a general communication error with the emergency call module. Do you think that confirms the cable/plug issue, or could it be something else entirely?

Hmm, a general communication error could still be a wiring issue, but it's tough to say for sure without more in-depth testing. With my Opel, the error codes led me down a rabbit hole. In the end, I had to take it to a workshop, they found a corroded connector. Best of luck!

I took it to the workshop and you were right, it was indeed a defective plug connection. They replaced it, and everything is working fine now. The repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for your help!

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. It wasn't the emergency call, but the ABS system was throwing errors and lights all over the dash. Did you check the diagnostic codes to see if they point to a specific sensor or module?
