Primera rain light sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Primera is experiencing issues with its rain-light sensor, leading to problems with auto wiping, auto headlights, speedometer dimming, and random light activation. The likely cause is bubbles forming under the gel pad where the sensor contacts the windshield. The suggested solution is to have the gel pad inspected and potentially replaced at a workshop, as handling these sensors can be complex.

Thanks, can you explain more about checking the gel pad? What should I look for, and how do I fix it if that's the problem?

Just take a close look at the gel pad where the sensor touches the windshield. If you see any bubbles or imperfections, that's likely it. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it sorted. Messing with those sensors can be tricky.

I checked the gel pad, and there are bubbles. I'll take it to a workshop like you suggested. They quoted me around 62€, which seems reasonable. Thanks!

Hey, I had something similar on my Primera. Sounds like the rain/light sensor. Have you checked the gel pad on the windshield where the sensor sits? Mine had bubbles forming underneath it, which messed everything up.
