Primera wiper failure

I'm wrestling with my 2006 Nissan Primera (gasoline engine). The windshield wipers are completely dead. I've scanned for errors and there's a fault code related to the wiper motor circuit. I already checked the fuses, they seem intact. Mileage is at 175503 km. Thinking it's a faulty wiring harness or a dodgy plug connection. Any ideas before I dive deeper, or am I looking at a steering column issue?

Summary of the thread

The 2006 Nissan Primera's windshield wipers are non-functional, with a fault code indicating an issue in the wiper motor circuit. Initial checks show the fuses are intact, suggesting the problem might be a faulty wiring harness or a connection issue, possibly near the steering column. A similar case was resolved by addressing a corroded connector in the wiring near the column. It is suggested to consult a workshop to efficiently diagnose and fix the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my Primera. Wipers just quit mid-downpour! For me, it was also throwing a code. Did you happen to fiddle with the cruise control or turn signals recently? I noticed mine acted up around the same time the wipers went rogue.

Interesting! Now that you mention it, the turn signals felt a bit wonky a few days before this wiper issue. Tell me more about your experience – was it the wiring harness itself, or perhaps a connection issue near the steering column? Any specific areas I should be focusing on before I start tearing things apart?

Yep, sounds like we're in the same boat! Honestly, I couldn't pinpoint the exact cause myself. After poking around for an afternoon, I reluctantly admitted defeat. Bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They sorted it out, tracing it back to a corroded connector somewhere in the wiring near the column. Might save you some headaches just taking it in!

Appreciate the insight! Guess I'll save myself the frustration and schedule a visit to the shop. Estimate I got was around 95€, so hopefully that does the trick. Thanks for confirming my fears – sometimes it's better to throw in the towel than waste a whole weekend!
