Prisma injection system problems
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevy Prisma with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the injection system, leading to high fuel consumption, weak engine performance, stalling, and smoke during acceleration. The problem was suspected to be caused by a bad sensor or connection. Upon inspection, a defective plug connection to one of the injectors was identified as the cause. After fixing the connection, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Cable and plug connections, huh? I hadn't really focused on those specifically. Were yours visibly corroded, or was it more subtle? And which components exactly should I be checking beyond the injectors themselves?

Mine weren't visibly corroded, just slightly loose on one of the injectors. The mechanic wiggled them, cleaned the contacts, and boom, problem solved. Besides the injectors, check the throttle position sensor and the MAP sensor connections too. Honestly, though, with those symptoms, it might be worth getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop.

Thanks a bunch for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to a local shop, and they found a defective plug connection to one of the injectors. 95€ later, it's running like new! You saved me a ton of stress and probably a whole load of cash.

Sounds rough. I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane, though it was a diesel. Symptoms were almost identical. Check the cable and plug connections to the fuel injectors and other injection components. A loose or corroded connection can cause all sorts of weird problems. Have you looked at those?
