No sound at all when I try to adjust the seat, completely dead. Where exactly is the seat switch located, and is it easy to check? I'm not very experienced with car electrics.

Okay, completely dead is interesting. Mine was making a faint clicking sound. The switch is usually on the side of the seat, where the controls are. If it's totally dead and you're not familiar with electrical stuff, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Could save you a lot of hassle and potential further damage. They diagnosed it correctly the first time in my case.

It does seem like it's beyond my capabilities. I took it to a workshop, and you were right to advise that. The final repair bill was 290€, but it's sorted now. I appreciate your help!

I have a Prisma too, and I had something similar. Was it completely dead, or could you hear any clicking when you tried to adjust the seat? Have you checked the seat switch itself? Sometimes those can get wonky.
