Prisma Steering Angle Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Prisma experienced steering difficulties, including hard steering and wheel vibrations, potentially due to a faulty steering angle sensor. The issue was confirmed by error codes and a workshop diagnosis, which identified a defective sensor caused by a coding error. The solution involved replacing and recalibrating the sensor and correcting the wheel alignment, successfully resolving the problem.

I scanned it and got a steering angle sensor code. Given the mileage, the symptoms, and the possibility of faulty coding, do you think recalibrating the sensor might fix it, or does it probably need to be replaced?

Recalibration is worth a try, but at that mileage, the sensor might be failing. The error code suggests that. Have a workshop confirm, because incorrect readings affect safety systems.

The workshop confirmed the steering angle sensor was defective, caused by a coding error. Replacing and recalibrating it, plus correcting the wheel alignment, cost 195€. The problem is fixed now. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like the steering angle sensor. Have you checked for error codes with an OBD2 scanner? Bad wheel alignment can cause similar issues. The electronic stability control system also relies on that sensor.
