Prius ABS and Steering Problems

I'm having a weird issue with my 2023 Toyota Prius hybrid. The tire pressure low warning keeps popping up, which is annoying enough, but now the ABS lamp lights up too. And the steering wheel vibrates like crazy, plus it feels like the power steering is failing because it's getting harder to turn the wheel! I checked the tire pressures, and they seem okay, but could it still be a tire sensor problem, or is something else completely messed up?

I had a similar problem with my Prius (don't remember the year exactly). It turned out to be a defective valve in one of the tires causing slow pressure loss. The system is super sensitive, and even a tiny drop can trigger the warning and mess with the other systems. Have you checked for any slow leaks?

Interesting! I didn't think a tiny leak could cause all this! When you say similar, do you mean ABS and steering problems too? I was just focused on the tire pressure monitoring system being faulty, since the pressures seemed okay when I checked them. How long did it take for your pressure to drop noticeably?

Yeah, the ABS and power steering were definitely affected. It was gradual at first, but then got worse quickly. The pressure drop was slow enough that I didn't notice visually, but the sensors picked it up. Honestly, it's worth getting it checked at a workshop; they can pinpoint the exact tire and valve much faster than you or I could.

Okay, I understand. Thank you for the advice. I will take it to the mechanic to have it checked. It turned out that there was indeed a defective valve in the tire, which caused a slow loss of pressure. They replaced the valve, and recalibrated the tire pressure sensor and the issue has been resolved. Total cost was 280€
