Prius rear AC vents issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2010 Toyota Prius hybrid. It's got 140061 km on it. Basically, the rear air vents aren't blowing any cold air, even when the AC is cranked up front. I scanned it and there's an error code related to the rear ventilation flap. The climate control seems to be acting up too, and overall the AC just isn't cooling like it used to. I suspect it might be a cable or plug issue with the flap, but not sure where to even start looking. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Prius. Same symptoms – AC not cooling properly and a weird error code about a flap. Is it only the rear vents that aren't working, or is the front also affected? Check the actuator, it is responsible for opening and closing the vent.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, it's mainly the rear vents that are the problem. The front cools okay-ish, but definitely not as cold as it should be. Where exactly is this actuator located? Is it something I can check myself, or am I better off just taking it to a mechanic?

Okay, if it's just the rear, then it's almost certainly the rear vent flap actuator. Honestly, without proper diagnostic tools and some experience, it can be tricky to pinpoint the exact problem. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they said it's often a faulty connection or a broken actuator. In the end I was charged 95€.

Thanks a lot for the info! Sounds like I'm dealing with the same thing. I'll probably just bite the bullet and take it to a shop. Hopefully, it won't cost me too much to get it sorted. I appreciate the help!
