Prius uneven idling defective engine mount

I've got a 2011 Toyota Prius hybrid with 185004 km on it, and I'm having a weird issue. I keep getting an error stored in the error memory, and the engine is idling really unevenly. It looks like it might be a defective engine mount, possibly a problem with the cable or plug connection to the mount itself. Has anyone else experienced this? Trying to avoid a huge bill if I can!

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Toyota Prius was experiencing uneven idling and error codes, suspected to be caused by a defective engine mount or issues with the cable or plug connection to the mount. The problem was characterized by increased shaking, especially when stopped. The suggested solution was to inspect the mounting bracket for damage and consider professional evaluation. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing the defective engine mount, restoring smooth operation.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had something similar happen with my Prius. Is it shaking a lot, especially when you're stopped at a light? It could very well be a failed motor mount. Check the mounting bracket for any visible damage too.

Yeah, it's definitely shaking more than usual at stops. I'll take a closer look at the bracket. When you say 'similar,' was it exactly the same error code and uneven idling? And did you end up replacing the whole mount, or was it just a connection issue?

The shaking was the biggest clue for me, plus the rough idling. I'm no expert, but those symptoms point to a bad mount. In the end I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop; better safe than sorry with these hybrid systems. They can check the connections properly too.

Thanks for the advice! I did end up taking it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective engine mount, just like we suspected. They replaced it, and the total cost was 95€. Runs like new now!
