Could be due to the glow plugs or the pre-glow device (small control unit) The dpf is a consequential error as soon as engine-relevant errors are present, no dpf regeneration is started and black smoke can occur. In my opinion, replace all glow plugs immediately and make sure that they don't break off. Always turn them out intermittently (half turn out, quarter turn back in as soon as it becomes stiff and don't just carry on).

Error code is glow plug 2 circit fault. The plug has been changed. It still turns on. Not every time.

On my Q7 4L 3 liter, the glow plug light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out, but the engine light stays on and cold starting takes longer and sometimes the car doesn't start at all, no smoke. The engine stays warm for hours after use.

Hello, Have you ever read out the vehicle to see why the check engine light stays on? According to your description, there could be a defect in the pre-glow system. If you have any more information, please share it with us ;)

Hello, I followed your advice, so I made an appointment with the garage to replace the glow plugs. I'll let you know the result next week. Thank you for your advice.

Hi still getting message after visiting garage on my 2015 Vauxhall insignia 2ltr SRI. No fault found on any of the fuel system But the message keeps coming back on dash. I bought new battery for car due to scanner saying on charging to 60% Not fitted yet, could this be the problem?

Hello, A weak battery could indeed cause various error messages to appear on your dashboard. However, it's also possible that there's an intermittent issue that wasn't present when the garage checked your car. After you've replaced the battery, if the message still appears, I would recommend taking your car back to the garage and ask them to check it again while the warning is displayed. Please keep us updated on your progress.
