Problem with the electric parking brake on the VW Tiguan
Hello everyone! I own a 2009 VW Tiguan, diesel engine, with 260,000 km on the odometer. I'm having a problem with the electric parking brake, which no longer sends signals to the motors and neither the brake nor the autohold function, both of which are on the same button. The yellow warning light is on in the dashboard. I checked the motors at the service center with a car battery and they work fine, they engage and disengage. I also purchased a new, original button, but the symptoms persist. The tester indicates a power problem, that the current is not reaching. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Please help me, I can't figure it out. Also, if I'm driving and intend to brake, the ABS engages. Thanks in advance!

Check the fuses and relays related to the electric parking brake system first, as a blown fuse or faulty relay could prevent power from reaching the motors. If the fuses and relays are fine, inspect the wiring and connectors for any signs of damage or corrosion that might be interrupting the power supply. Since the ABS is also engaging unexpectedly, it might be worth checking the ABS sensors and wiring as well. If the issue persists, it would be wise to have a professional mechanic take a closer look, as this could be a safety concern. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
