Air temperature sensor problem on Peugeot 607

Hello everyone, I own a 2001 Peugeot 607 with a gasoline engine and 195,000 km on the odometer. I've noticed that the check engine light is on. In addition, my intake air temperature sensor (part number 101451B) is broken. I'm wondering what the consequences might be on the engine if I continue to drive a few kilometers with this faulty sensor. Thanks for your advice and help!

Driving with a faulty intake air temperature sensor can lead to poor engine performance, reduced fuel efficiency, and increased emissions. It might also cause the engine to run rich or lean, potentially damaging other components over time. I recommend replacing the sensor as soon as possible to avoid further issues. Have you checked if there are any other error codes stored in the ECU? Let me know if you need further assistance!
