Problems with 2014 BMW 4 Series gasoline engine: engine light, rough running, high consumption - throttle valve defective?

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my 2014 petrol BMW 4 Series. The car is behaving really strangely - engine light comes on, engine just cuts out, doesn't really pick up the throttle, runs erratically, pulls when accelerating and consumes a lot of fuel. I think it could be the throttle valve, but I'm not sure. Do any of you have experience with this kind of problem and could give me a tip on what I should have checked at the garage? I would be interested to know how you have solved this and what your experiences are. Many thanks in advance!

Hello, my bmw 335i with the N55 engine starts up strangely at cold start and jerks when it is cold when starting (automatic). The check engine light has been on for a long time and cannot be extinguished. I have read out the following error: Throttle valve angle; absolute pressure intake manifold, comparison: pressure too high Could someone please help me further Many thanks in advance

Hello, The error you're experiencing could be due to a malfunctioning throttle body or a problem with the intake manifold pressure sensor. I would recommend starting with inspecting and cleaning the throttle body. If the issue persists, you might need to check the intake manifold pressure sensor. If you're not comfortable doing these checks yourself, it would be best to have a professional mechanic inspect your vehicle. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Anybody know how I might identify which disc is warped on my bmw 520d. I have new discs for the front but want to make sure it’s a front disc before I change them

Hello, A warped disc usually causes a pulsating feeling through the brake pedal when you apply the brakes. If you feel the pulsation more through the steering wheel, it's likely a front disc. If you feel it more through the seat or vehicle body, it's likely a rear disc. However, this is not a foolproof method. The most accurate way to identify a warped disc is to have them inspected and measured for run-out with a dial indicator. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, it would be best to have a professional mechanic inspect your vehicle. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Hey, I have the same problem as you have you fixed the error ?

Hello, If you're experiencing similar issues with your BMW, I recommend starting by inspecting and cleaning the throttle body, as well as checking the intake manifold pressure sensor. These components can often cause the symptoms you're describing. If the problem persists, it might be best to have a professional mechanic take a closer look. Please keep us updated on your progress, and feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
