Problems with ABS systems in the 2015 Ford Ecosport: suspected transmission fluid wear and possible workshop solutions
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Ford Ecosport owner is experiencing issues with the ABS system and suspects worn transmission fluid as the cause. Another individual with a similar vehicle had a related problem, which was resolved by replacing the worn gearbox oil at an independent garage. It is suggested to first check the transmission oil level, and if the problem persists, to consult a garage for a professional assessment, as some offer free checks.

Hi, thanks for your feedback! My Ecosport has 89666 km on the clock so far and I had my last service not too long ago. I haven't had any problems with the engine so far, it's a 2.0L Ti-VCT GDI engine. Does it make sense to change the transmission fluid yourself, or is it definitely better to have it done in a garage? Your experience doesn't sound too bad, maybe I should just ask the local independent garage. Thanks again!

Hello again, I'm glad I could help you with my experience. Your Ecosport already has a few kilometers on the clock, similar to mine back then. So yes, it could well be that the transmission fluid is the culprit. On the subject of changing it yourself: In my opinion, a bit of know-how is required to change the gearbox oil in general. With my car at the time, it was definitely better that I had it done in the workshop. However, it's not rocket science to check the transmission oil level yourself, so perhaps you can get an initial assessment. However, I would still recommend that you take your car to the garage and have everything checked. There are also many garages that will do this free of charge. They can then tell you exactly whether it's the gearbox oil. Hope this helps you! Good luck with your Ecosport!

Hi again, thanks for your informative answer. I think I'll have a look at the gearbox oil level first. If that doesn't help, or if I'm still unsure, then I'll probably take it to the garage and have it checked. Your tip about the free checks sounds good, I'll definitely take that into consideration. Thank you very much for your help and advice. I hope this solves my problem!

Hello, I bought a Ford Ecosport (built in 2013, gasoline engine). The model is pretty similar to yours, even though it's the predecessor. I'm not much of a car expert, but I have some experience with this issue because I also had this problem. I had it all done at an independent garage. It turned out that the gearbox oil was worn out. The guys at the garage did everything and it cost me 365 euros. To be able to help you better, it would be good to know which engine your car has and how many kilometers it has already driven. Hope that helps a little.
