Problems with airbag system in 2006 Caddy VW Diesel - looking for experience and troubleshooting tips

Hello everyone! I am currently experiencing a strange problem with my 2006 Caddy VW Diesel. It seems like there is a fault stored in the system and the vehicle is behaving differently than usual. I suspect that the airbag system failure could be to blame, but I'm not 100% sure. Have any of you experienced anything similar and can give me any troubleshooting tips? I would be particularly interested to hear about your experiences with the repair at the garage. Many thanks in advance!

It sounds like the issue could be with the window regulator or the switch itself. Try swapping the switch with the one from the other side to see if the problem persists. If it does, the issue might be with the window regulator. Please update us on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

So it can't be the button itself because I can hear a click from the relay and I've also tried it with the drive side and I can't get it down with that either It only works if I install the motor in the driver's door and press the switch for the right side, then the motor turns

If the motor works on the other side, then it's likely not the issue. The problem could be in the wiring between the switch and the motor. Check for any damaged or loose wires. If everything seems fine, it might be best to have a professional mechanic inspect the issue. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Hello, I have an airbag warning light on a 2012 polo 1.6 tdi. I changed the airbag switch in the glove box (to activate or deactivate the passenger airbag) but nothing has changed. The diagnostics tell me that there's a short circuit at most in this same part, but they also tell me about the belt on the passenger side. Could it be the plug under the seat that has a problem? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Yes, the plug under the seat can often be a source of airbag warning light issues due to loose or corroded connections. Check the wiring and connectors under the passenger seat for any signs of damage or poor connection. Ensure the connectors are securely fastened. If the issue persists, it might be best to have a professional mechanic take a look. Please let us know how it goes or if you have any further questions.
