Problems with BMW 5 Series diesel: Black smoke, high fuel consumption and uneven running

Hello, I have a problem with my 2008 BMW 5 Series Diesel, which has already driven 301,871 km. When accelerating, black smoke comes out of the exhaust, the check engine light is on and the engine switches itself off. It performs less, runs unevenly, jerks when accelerating and consumes a lot of fuel. The engine stalls at idle and there is a strong smell of exhaust fumes. I suspect that it might have something to do with the fuel pressure sensor, which measures the fuel pressure and transmits it to the engine control unit. Has anyone had similar problems before and how did it go at the garage? Last time they made me pay quite a bit and I want to be a bit better prepared this time. Thanks in advance for your help!

My error code is 247500 has nothing to do with the tire, right?

Hi Hassan, you're correct. The error code 247500 in a BMW is related to the fuel pressure sensor, specifically indicating a plausibility issue. This could mean that the sensor is failing or there's an issue with the wiring. I'd recommend having a professional mechanic inspect the fuel pressure sensor and its wiring for any visible damage or loose connections. If no issues are found, the sensor itself may need to be replaced. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Hi Viktor, it sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting. If you're still experiencing power loss at full throttle, it could be due to a clogged fuel filter or a problem with the turbocharger, if your car has one. I'd recommend checking the fuel filter first, as it's the easier and less expensive option. If the problem persists, you might want to have the turbocharger inspected by a professional. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Hello Fabrice, Can you please provide more information, are the original BMW pads and sensors where installed? Did you install the wiring correctly? And also how did you reset the error? Best regards, CarlyAdminNik.
