Problems with performance and DPF regeneration in a 2015 Leon Seat - possible exhaust gas temperature sensor problem?

Hello friends, I have a strange problem with my 2015 Leon Seat, diesel engine. The performance is decreasing, the DPF regeneration keeps failing and there is a strong exhaust smell. Could this be a problem with the exhaust gas temperature sensor? Has anyone had similar experiences and, if so, how was this rectified in the workshop? Hi, I had a very similar problem with my 2013 Leon Seat. But I'm not really a mechanic. My exhaust system was leaking badly. I had to take it to the garage and they charged me 265 euros. It was really annoying, but since then everything has been running smoothly again. Maybe your Leon has a similar problem? Could you give me more information about the car, maybe I can help then. Has the car been like this for a while? Could you notice a particular noise? The more information we have, the better we can try to solve the problem.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my 2014 Golf. It also had the same exhaust smell and was no longer as snappy on the road. At first I wondered whether it could be due to the exhaust temperature sensor. So I went to the garage and they actually replaced the exhaust temperature sensor. The bill was pretty hefty, but what can you do, right? Anyway, that helped me. The car pulls properly again and it no longer smells. So it could well be that your suspicions are correct. Have it checked at the garage - they have the right equipment to test whether the sensor is really faulty. I hope I was able to help and keep both fingers crossed that it's just the sensor!
