Problems with starting a 2017 Audi TT: Possible causes and solutions with parking heater

Greetings, has anyone ever had the problem of a 2017 Audi TT with a gasoline engine not starting? I suspect that it might be due to a malfunction of the auxiliary heating. Does anyone have any experience and any troubleshooting tips? I would be particularly interested to know how the garage ultimately solved the problem. Many thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Audi TT with a gasoline engine is experiencing starting issues, suspected to be related to the auxiliary heating system. A similar issue in another Audi model was resolved by addressing a lack of fuel, suggesting this could be a potential cause. The recommended solution is to check the fuel level and ensure the tank is filled, as this might resolve the starting problem. Further investigation at a garage is advised to confirm the cause and ensure the vehicle runs smoothly.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Audi A3. So, at least in my case, it was due to lack of fuel. I'm not a professional, but I do know a bit about cars. Took my Audi to a garage, instructed them to check everything. They then found out that a lack of fuel was the cause. The problem was fixed for 205 euros. I had to pay for it, but after that everything ran smoothly again. Maybe it's the same problem with you? Could you perhaps give us more details about your car? It would be helpful to be able to help you better.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. So, a lack of fuel could really be the problem, as I only had my Audi TT comprehensively checked at 54692 km. Maybe I forgot to refuel after that. Have it checked at the garage and let them know. Thanks again for the tip!

Hello again, I'm glad my answer was helpful. Yes, definitely have it checked at the garage. It happens to even the best of us that we forget to refuel. If this is the case, a quick and inexpensive solution is to fix the problem by simply filling up! Remember, after a thorough check the tank should also be full, also to rule out other possible causes or just to make sure the engine has enough fuel to run properly. I hope this gets your Audi TT purring like a kitten again! Be sure to give us feedback, I'd be interested to know what the problem was in the end. Good luck and let us know if you have any further questions!

Hey, these are really super helpful tips. I can't believe I was so thoughtless! Will definitely make sure the tank is always well filled, especially after a check. Also hope it's nothing major and the car will run as normal again. Thanks again for your quick and detailed answers. I will keep you posted as soon as the problem is fixed. See you then and have a nice day!
