Problems with the access control system in the Opel Astra 2022 - experiences and solutions

Hi guys, I've recently started having a few problems with my Opel Astra (year of manufacture 2022, gasoline engine). The car is behaving strangely, especially when locking or unlocking with the key fob. I think the problem might be in the access control system, it just doesn't work properly anymore. Have any of you had similar experiences? And if so, how did you get it fixed at the garage? I would be delighted to hear any tips and your experiences!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Opel Corsa (year 2020, gasoline engine). My vehicle knowledge is rather low, so I took it to the garage as soon as the problem occurred. It turned out that the problem was called "input signal of another ECU faulty" and it cost me around 1000.0 euros to fix. Can you please tell me what the exact symptoms are and if any warning lights come on? It could also be a simpler and cheaper problem as the cost of repairs can vary greatly!

Hey, thanks for your answer! No warning lights come on for me and I haven't been able to identify any specific symptoms yet. Sometimes it just works, sometimes not. At my last inspection (at 85889 km) nothing unusual was found, so I'm a bit at a loss. I'll probably have to take it to the garage soon...

Hey, no problem! It's always good to hear from other people who have had similar problems. So, if you don't have any warning lights coming on and you can't pinpoint any specific symptoms, it could possibly be an intermittent problem. It's really hard to diagnose because it's not constant and the fault codes are often not stored. My Opel Corsa didn't have these problems, but maybe it could be the same with your model. When you're at the garage, ask if they can check or replace the battery in the key fob. Sometimes something as simple as a low battery can cause this exact problem! And of course that would be much cheaper than any extensive repairs. I hope it's nothing too serious and that you'll soon be able to drive again undisturbed. Let us know what it was in the end. Good luck!

Hey thanks, that helps me a bit! To be honest, I hadn't thought about the battery in the key fob, which could of course be the cause. I'll take it up with the garage and hope it's nothing serious. Of course I'll keep you up to date. See you then and thanks again for the good advice!
