Hey, thanks for your answer! My model is a GLA 2 CDI. I now have 1339 km on it and the last service was only recently. I hope that I don't have such an expensive repair ahead of me. Maybe the service has changed something. I'll bring up your tip at my next visit to the garage.

Hi, I can sympathize with you all too well, you always hope that it won't be so expensive. It was similar with my GLC - the problems started right after the service. In my case, however, it was a thermoswitch that was defective. Try to see if the air conditioning emits cold air when the engine is running and the ignition is switched on. If so, it could actually be the air conditioning compressor. However, this can usually be replaced fairly easily. So don't let this put you off, there could also be a cheap solution. Maybe check it out before you go to the garage. All the best and keep your fingers crossed that it won't be that expensive!

Hey, I really appreciate all your advice! It makes me feel a bit better to know that there might be a cheaper solution. I'll try your tip first thing tomorrow and see if cold air comes out when the engine is running. Hopefully it's just the air conditioning compressor and not something else. Thanks again for your help and wish you all the best!

Hi. I had a similar problem with my 2015 Mercedes GLC, so from the same manufacturer, just a bit older. I have no real experience with cars, but I'm happy to try and help if I can. In my case, it was sporadic miscommunication between the ECUs that was interfering with the air conditioning. I had to get it fixed at the garage and it cost me 955 euros. It went pretty smoothly, although it was a bit expensive. Which model variant do you have? Maybe I could give more details if I knew if there were any similarities to my model.
