Problems with the automatic windows on the Peugeot 2008: Experience reports and solutions

Hey guys, my Peugeot 2008 (gasoline, year of manufacture 2016) has been acting up recently. The automatic windows no longer work at all. I suspect that it could be due to a malfunction of the window regulator. Have you had similar experiences and if so, how was the problem solved in the workshop? I would be happy to hear any tips and your experiences.

Summary of the thread

A Peugeot 2008 owner is experiencing issues with the automatic windows not functioning, suspecting a malfunction in the window regulator. A similar problem was resolved in another Peugeot model by replacing the window regulator control unit, costing around 355 euros. It is suggested to consult a garage to confirm the issue and inquire about repair costs specific to the model.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I have to say I have a bit of experience with cars, but I'm not a professional. I had a very similar problem with my 2014 Peugeot 206. Your window regulator control unit is probably faulty. I ended up paying around 355 euros for it at my trusted garage and they fixed it without any problems. But I have to say, it often depends on the garage and the car. Can you perhaps tell us a bit more about your car? Every detail could help to localize the problem more precisely. Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for your answer and help. My Peugeot has now done 177260 kilometers and I last serviced it at 172000 kilometers. There have been no similar problems so far. Maybe it really is the window regulator control unit. Your experience definitely helps and I will now ask my garage about it. Thanks also for the tip about the price, that gives me a clue. Hopefully they will get the problem under control quickly.

Hey, no problem, glad I could help! From the mileage, it does indeed sound like a possible defect in the window regulator control unit. In my old 206, the problem only occurred after a few kilometers. In any case, it makes sense to check this with your garage. However, the price can vary, so it's better to ask what it would cost for your model. I hope everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. Keep us up to date!

Hey, your help is really worth its weight in gold! I'll definitely take it up with the garage and ask about the costs. With so many kilometers, it really is about time. Your experience is very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I'll definitely keep you posted about the repair. Until then, take care!
