Problems with the fan and the rear ventilation flap in the Citroen C5 model year 2007: experience and solutions wanted

Hello everyone, I have a tricky problem with my Citroen C5 (built in 2007, diesel). The fan is no longer working properly. I suspect it might have something to do with the rear ventilation flap, but I'm not sure. Have any of you experienced this before and can tell me how it was solved in the workshop? What was your general experience? Would be really grateful for a few tips.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Citroen C4 (built in 2005), almost the same model as yours. I wouldn't trust myself to repair a car, so not much experience with it. I went to the garage and they told me that the air conditioning control unit was faulty. It cost 355 euros to fix it. A bit expensive, but I had no other choice. Can you give more details about your car, year, model, etc? Maybe that can help me help you more. Hope this helps you!

Hi, thanks for your advice! My Citroen has already done 146031 KM and the last service was recently. It could well be the air conditioning control unit, I wouldn't have thought of that now. I'll definitely take it up with the garage. Of course, 355 euros is a lot, but what can you do without a car? Thanks again for the quick reply!

No problem, always happy to help! Exactly, it's difficult without a car, especially if you're dependent on it. Well, in my opinion it's worth the money, as it's not just a small part, but a major repair to the car. It is typical for this model that the air conditioning control unit sometimes causes problems. But don't worry, after the repair your blower should work again as usual. Hopefully everything will go smoothly in the workshop and you'll soon be back on the road! Your Citroen already has a lot on its plate, but that doesn't mean it can't last for many more years. I wish you the best of luck! Let me know how it turns out. I'm looking forward to it!

Hello, thank you very much for the encouraging words! I was actually a bit worried about the repair, but you've made things a little easier for me. I'll take your advice and talk to the workshop about the air conditioning control unit. Hopefully everything will actually go smoothly and it's nothing worse. As soon as I know more, I'll be sure to get back to you. Thanks again for your help!
